James Bilcox, CFP FMA Financial Planner

I've worked full-time in the financial services industry based out of Calgary, AB Canada since 2001. I received my Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Lethbridge in May 2001. During high school & university I worked in the retail brokerage side of the business and that is where I developed a passion for investments & wealth management. I received my Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in January 2006 and am a member in good standing with the Financial Planners Standards Council. I subsequently received my Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute in August 2008.

I presently run a financial planning practice with RBC Wealth Management. As a way to further my own professional development & give back to this industry I got involved with the Canadian Institute of Financial Planners (CIFPs) in April 2004. Since then, I have attended several National conferences. I was named Vice President of the Calgary Chapter & served in that role from Feb. 2007 - April 2008. I have since been named President of the chapter and have served from May 2008 till the present.
