Research configuration with SugarForge and possible value-add
From Planipedia
From what I can tell, I don't think that SugarForge is a part of the downloadable Sugar software, but rather is an extension of the Sugar site specifically for selling Sugar-extensions.
I cannot find any Marketplace-esque extensions for WikiMedia either.
That being said, there is the possibility of creating a "Marketplace" namespace, which will act as a directory for all pages advertising/description products/services being sold by users. A user could create a page in the Marketplace namespace, just like adding any other page, and enter in descriptive text of the product/service being sold, the asking price, the user to be contacted, parameters, and where it can actually be sold. We could create a "Marketplace template" for all people looking to do this, and also including things like the rating bar, and the talk page would function well for user comments and questions.
Is this viable or just not enough? I've created a dummy page here to show what it could look like (note since we don't yet have a rating bar I've jsut done a screen shot. We would maybe have one overall Marketplace tab, showing new offerings, most highly rated Marketplace pages and general instructions.
