Who Decides?

Any contributor on Planipedia can become an Administrator by exhibiting positive and consistent contributions. There are many ways of demonstrating this over a period of time, but generally recommendations from other Administrators or high Contribution Scores will be used to select Planipedia users to become administrators.

If you are a current Planipedia user, and have some time and motivation to contribute to the administrative side of Planipedia, we recommend you contact any of the Administrators by setting the Special:UserList page to Administrators, and use their talk tab to discuss how you can be 'promoted'.

Bureaucrats are not currently responsible for selecting possible Administrator candidates, this will be done by other administrators. Administrators should select possible candidates based on the consistency and quality of their contributions, ability to use the various functions of Planipedia, expressed motivation, and other skill sets. It is essential that the user has not intentionally violated Planipedia Rules.

Approving a Request

Once the user has been approved by at least two administrators, it is quite a simple task for the Bureaucrat to increase their status. In the Special:UserRights page, search for the user name to be promoted, and then check "Administrator" status.
