Planit:I am Searching for a Specific Product Code and Can't Find it. What Can I do?
From Planipedia
The best way to search for a product is by product code if you know what it is. For example, if you want the AGF Canadian Bond fund, change the search criterion to “Product Code” and type in AGF203 in the search line. This is the fastest way to find a product.
If you don’t know the fund code, identify a unique string of characters, such as AGF and that should work, though you’ll probably get a larger list than you would like. Note that the names of the funds are not controlled by us. It’s dependent on the data feed that provides the data in your deployment. This can be from a Cannex feed, a Morningstar or Fundata feed or even from a back office feed. Recently we have changed our search criterion so that any entry longer than 3 characters will look for that content in the string of the description. So you don’t have to know what the name starts with. And finally if you cannot find the fund after performing all the searches like listed above you can use our Custom Product Add or our Generic funds. You can read more about this in the Assets and Liabilities section of this manual.
You also can save a lot of time daily by investing a bit of time up front. You can flag funds once as your “favourites” and then reduce your search time by searching for funds that are on your favourite list as opposed to searching the whole universe of thousands of funds. You can even create a “Generic Products” favourite list to find those quickly.
