Contribution Scores

Planipedia automatically keeps track of the edits, creations and uploads from each user. In order to compare the activity and contributions from a high number of users at once, Planipedia uses the special tool called Contribution Scores, to calculate a single value to judge contributions. The score is calculated as:

S = Score; U = number of unique pages; E = number of edits;
S = U + 2 * √(E - U)

The scores from different users are tabulated over a period of 7 days, 30 days or over Planipedia's entire existence.

Planipedia uses these scores to get a very quick idea of how much content is being changed and added to Planipedia all the time, to ensure that information stays relevant and up to date. It also uses Contribution Scores to award users with high scores with "User of the Month" (the highest contribution score in the past 30 days), or to consider 'promoting' users to Administrator status, so they can put their skills and time to additional tasks.

Even if you don't have a proper user login, contribution scores can still keep track of edits done by your IP address.

If you want to find out how to contribute more so you can increase your score, visit How You Can Contribute or the Help pages.
